Sacks for Soldiers

Sacks for Soldiers is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that my twin brother, Matthew, and I founded during 2020.

In 2012, Matthew and I went to a West Point Football game, thanks to one of the players on the team. At this game, Matthew became inspired and, since then, has wanted to serve the United States. In 2020, Matthew began researching what life was like serving our country. We saw that the soldiers often began to feel homesick and missed the comfort items they had to leave at home. Other service projects didn't focus on comfort, they focus on need. So, Matthew and I reached out to the same football player that helped us get to the game in 2012 and asked: "How can we help?"

Sacks for Soldiers began by sending items such as beef jerky and spikeball (among other things) just to lighten the soldiers' days. Now, we are in direct communication with soldiers to give them the comfort items that THEY want in order to remind them of home.

Over the course of the last three years, Sacks for Soldiers has shown what it meant to bring a community together. This project is all thanks to the people that appreciate the sacrifice that our soldiers make for our country.
